Sitting inside on a trainer all winter can drive you crazy. Here’s a break from the monotony with some triathlon humor!
My training: Week 10 is complete! We got hit with about 5 inches of snow early in the week which put a damper on my hopes to start getting out and biking soon. The rest of the week hung out around around the 40’s which is great running weather. I hosted 2 different group rides this week in my living room, which I shall now refer to as the “Pedal Palace.”
Feeling a bit sore today so I know I got a good week of training under my belt. Looking forward to next week, almost 8 hours on the bike! Also, signing up for the Oshkosh Half Marathon next month.
Week totals: 14 hours
- Swimming: 3 hours
- Biking: 6.75 hours
- Running: 2.5 hours
- Core/Lifting: 1.75 hours
Tuesday: 2 hour spin the the morning, bought ‘TED’ redbox (I heard it was bad, and it was). 45 minute run after work + CORE
Wednesday: 1 hour spin in the morning, 3 x9 min Z3 (It’s funny how 1 hour on the bike seems so short now). 45 minute swim, drill and form focus + LIFT
Thursday: 1.5 hour spin. Had some friends over to my apartment, aka the ‘Pedal Palace’. Main set: 5 x 6 min Z3 + CORE
Friday: 45 minute drill swim after work. 45 minute hill focus run + LIFT
Saturday: Another spin session at the ‘Pedal Palace’ with a group. 1.75 hour spin. Main set: 4 x 6 min Z3, 4 x 3 min Z4 + CORE
Sunday: 30 minute spin on the bike, 1 hour run. 1.5 hour swim: main set was 3 x 15 min
Favorite workout of the week: The 2 spins at the Pedal Palace with Lindsey, Greg and Amanda. Good workout, good music, and good company.
Least favorite workout of the week: An hour and half in the pool isn’t what I call a ‘fun’ workout
Advice of the week: Stop saying “why me?” Start believing “why not me?”
Thing I’m looking forward to next week: 7.75 hours on the bike (maybe 1 day will be warm enough to bike outside, maybe)
I know what you mean about an hour not seeming long anymore, brilliant isn’t it!? 😉
